Mission

At Parents for Leveraging Ethical AI Standards in Education (PLEASE), we are committed to fostering an educational environment where AI is utilized responsibly, ethically, and transparently to enhance the learning experience for all students. We advocate for the thoughtful integration of AI technologies in education, promoting innovation while upholding our core principles of equity, inclusion, and student well-being.

We firmly oppose the use of AI detectors and other automated surveillance technologies in educational settings, recognizing the inherent risks to privacy, autonomy, and psychological safety. Instead, we champion human based approaches to student support and behavior management, emphasizing empathy, communication, and positive reinforcement.

Through advocacy, education, and collaboration with educators, policymakers, and technology developers, we strive to empower parents and communities to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in education, ensuring that it serves the best interests of students and respects their fundamental rights and dignity.

Revolutionizing Education through Ethical AI based Programs

Ethical AI-based programs will revolutionize our educational environment.  When carefully vetted and aligned with ethical standards, AI tools have the potential to tailor content to diverse learning styles and fully develop critical thinking skills that enhance understanding and retention. Embracing AI in education, with a commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, can lead to a more dynamic, efficient, and equitable educational landscape.

Removal of AI Detectors and other Surveillance methods

The removal of AI detectors and other surveillance methods from education is crucial to protect the privacy and autonomy of students. By eliminating these intrusive measures, we can foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to express themselves and explore their academic potential without fear of unwarranted surveillance.

Educating about AI

Educating our educators, parents, and students about AI and its uses is essential in today’s technology-driven world.  Demystifying and understanding AI, from machine learning and neural networks to practical applications in everyday life such as virtual assistants, is the only way to empower ourselves to harness its potential, not by fearing it.

Advocating

Advocating for the future with school boards, educators, administrators, and government entities is important. Through advocacy, you work to promote policies that prioritize the responsible use of AI, student privacy, student well-being, data security, and equitable access to AI resources.
